Destoner Machine Manufacturer in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India

Thermocare Destoner machine with aspiration and cyclone system

Industrial Destoner and Stone Separator Machine

Thermocare Industries Limited manufactures destoner machines in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India for density-based separation of stones and other heavy impurities from suitable granular material. The first documented Thermocare applications are whole supari and cut supari, also known as betel nut or areca nut.

A Destoner is not selected by outside dimensions alone. Material form, size range, impurity type, density difference, moisture, feed condition, required throughput, available utilities and the required product purity must be reviewed before a configuration is finalised.

Verified Thermocare applications

  • Whole supari or whole betel nut.
  • Cut supari or processed betel nut pieces.
  • Stone and heavy-impurity separation where the material is suitable for density-based separation.

Other grains, pulses, seeds, nuts or free-flowing granular materials may be evaluated only after the actual product and impurities are reviewed. One configuration should not be presented as suitable for every material.

How a Gravity Destoner Works

A gravity or densimetric Destoner separates materials that have different densities or suspension behaviour. Feed is distributed onto the separation deck. Controlled deck motion and an upward air stream help create a moving material bed. Under suitable conditions, lighter product and heavier stones or impurities follow different movement paths and leave through separate outlets.

Successful separation depends on the actual material and impurity characteristics. If product and impurity have very similar density, shape, size or aerodynamic behaviour, separation can be difficult and a material trial may be required.

Main Destoner components

  • Feed hopper and regulating arrangement: introduce material at a controlled rate.
  • Distribution zone: spreads material across the working width of the deck.
  • Separation deck: supports the moving material bed and allows controlled air passage where applicable.
  • Vibration or eccentric drive: produces the required deck motion.
  • Airflow or aspiration system: supports stratification and separation when included in the selected design.
  • Heavy-impurity and clean-product outlets: discharge the separated streams.
  • Adjustment points: may control feed, deck inclination, airflow or discharge split.
  • Frame, covers, guards and control panel: support safe installation and operation according to the approved scope.

The exact components and construction depend on the selected Thermocare configuration and quotation.

What the operator observes

The material bed, feed distribution, discharge split and presence of good product in the reject stream should be observed during setting. Adjustments should be made gradually and recorded. Sudden changes in feed rate, moisture, particle size or impurity loading can change the separation result.

Destoner Selection and Application Information

For technical evaluation, send representative information about both the product and the unwanted impurities. A photograph alone is not enough for final selection.

Information required for a Destoner enquiry

  • Product or material name.
  • Whole, cut, broken or graded condition.
  • Typical and maximum particle-size range.
  • Impurity type: stone, metal, glass or other heavy material.
  • Approximate impurity loading and required separation objective.
  • Bulk density of product and impurity if known.
  • Moisture, oiliness, stickiness and dust content.
  • Required throughput or batch quantity.
  • Upstream and downstream equipment.
  • Available electrical supply and any required aspiration connection.
  • Installation space, floor condition and discharge height.
  • Required construction or contact-part material.
  • Plant location, photographs, layout and expected project timeline.

Material trials and samples

Where separation behaviour is uncertain, a representative sample may be requested. The sample should represent normal product, variation in particle size and the actual unwanted impurities. Any result or recovery claim should relate to the tested material and agreed operating conditions.

Integration with a processing line

A Destoner may be evaluated as a standalone machine or as part of a feeding, grading, cleaning, conveying or supari-processing line. Feed consistency, upstream grading, dust extraction, product elevation and downstream collection can affect the overall arrangement.

Related Thermocare equipment: Screening/Separator, Vibro Sifter, Cutter with Screener/Separator and Dust Collector.

Installation, Operation, Maintenance and Safety

Installation planning

Confirm floor loading, machine access, feeding height, discharge collection, electrical connection, aspiration route where applicable and safe maintenance clearance. The equipment should be levelled and anchored according to the approved installation instructions.

Operating checks

  • Inspect guards, fasteners, deck condition and discharge paths before starting.
  • Start the machine and airflow arrangement in the approved sequence.
  • Introduce material gradually and establish a stable feed bed.
  • Check clean-product and reject outlets for incorrect carryover.
  • Keep the feed and material condition reasonably consistent.
  • Stop and investigate unusual noise, vibration, rubbing, overheating or loss of separation.

Routine maintenance

Cleaning and inspection frequency depends on the material and operating hours. Typical checks include the deck surface and perforations, flexible connections, drive fasteners, bearings, belts or eccentric mechanism, airflow path, covers, guards and electrical components. Maintenance should be performed only after electrical isolation and control of stored mechanical energy.

Safety limitations

Do not operate with guards removed or place hands near moving parts, decks, drives, fans or discharge openings. Dust, allergens, combustible material, toxic contamination and product-hygiene requirements must be reviewed for the actual application. No food-grade, pharmaceutical, explosion-proof, flameproof, ATEX, specific purity or recovery claim is made unless supported by the final design and documentation.

Destoner Machine Frequently Asked Questions

What does a Destoner remove?

A Destoner is used to separate stones and other suitable heavy impurities from a product stream when their density or suspension behaviour differs enough for controlled separation.

Can it process whole and cut supari?

Thermocare's official demonstrations document Destoner applications for both whole supari and cut supari. The deck, feed, airflow and settings should be selected for the actual material condition.

Can the same machine process every grain or nut?

No. Material size, density, shape, moisture, dust and impurity characteristics affect separation. Other materials should be evaluated before the machine is finalised.

Is screening the same as destoning?

No. Screening mainly separates by particle size. Destoning mainly uses density and aerodynamic behaviour. Upstream grading may improve Destoner consistency when material size varies widely.

What affects Destoner capacity?

Working area, material characteristics, size distribution, moisture, impurity loading, feed consistency, separation objective and machine settings can all affect throughput. A verified capacity requires the actual selected design and material.

Why is good product appearing in the reject stream?

Possible causes include incorrect airflow, deck setting, feed rate, material variation or an unstable feed bed. Settings should be adjusted gradually after checking the actual process.

Does a Destoner require dust extraction?

That depends on the material, dust generation, aspiration design and installation. A separate dust-collection arrangement may be evaluated when the process releases airborne dust.

What construction material is supplied?

Construction and contact-part material depend on the handled product, hygiene, corrosion, wear and commercial scope. The exact material must be stated in the approved quotation.

Can a Destoner be integrated into an automatic line?

It may be integrated with feeders, conveyors, elevators, graders and collection equipment when capacities, levels, controls and operating sequence are engineered together.

What should I send for a quotation?

Send the product, particle size, impurity type, throughput, moisture, photographs or sample, upstream and downstream process, utilities, required construction and installation city.
